The site may be out of date, pleading for some updates and a long massage, but daddy's a little tired. Maybe next year, honey.
16 months without any real improvements, and still some savvy stubborn users hang around and lost souls stumble upon. You're reading this, aren't you? Maybe you see the potential, maybe you share my fetish for long customizable lists, maybe you're a competition addict, maybe you don't like your sites to load too fast, maybe you're lost, or maybe you're a robot. In which case, beep bop boop.
Anyway, I'll be here 'til I'm dead. Gold and silver 'til 2013 (at least). Long live Mises!

Breakdown
It seems that the breakdown of my site coincided with the breakdown of the worldwide financial system as a whole. Well, I'm here to turn things around. Don't get your hopes too high. This site may be my baby, but she will continue to be neglected and abused. Still, I promise to devote more time too you, honey.
As for the rest of you schlubs with your fractional-reserve Ponzi scheme of an economy, you're on your own. What's the word I'm searching for...oh yeah, death spiral. I want you in a bearish state of mind until 2013. Yeah, you heard me. I want you out of paper money. And that includes those dollars in your pocket. So sell 'em to the next foreigner you see. I want you in gold. I want you in silver. (And I ain't talking GLD or SLV.) I want you out of banks. The only dollars you need are the dollars you trade in the market.
How un-American, you exclaim? Well, sorry if I've offended your delicate sensibilities, buttercup. But the dollar is not America, and America is not the dollar.
So take the money you've set aside for speculation, trade these markets if you can, and share your picks with the rest of us if you dare. But protect yourself, be cautious, and know that the fun is just beginning.

The Horror. The Horror.
Well the site has gone to hell. Errors abound. Server problems. Spammers crippling message boards and email. Picks, stats, and quotes months out of date. A budget that's dropped to near zero. And human resources? That would be me, myself, and I. One man and a computer. The situation is dire. Save yourselves. I can't blame you for turning to other sites. That's just your style isn't it? Fine. That's fine. I plan to repair and rework this epic experiment in stocks and social networking. It will take time (God knows how long. I'm shooting for October 1st January 1st an indeterminate time in the future). Thanks to everyone that has stuck around and expressed support. I don't think I'll ever give up this vision in the long run, and I still have lots of hope for making it a reality in the future.

Face it. Most online stock message boards are a chaotic free-for-all. Too many pseudonyms. Too much wishful thinking. Too much anonymous ranting and raving. It can be fun but it's not much help to the serious investor. TopStockGuru is here to bring a bit of sanity to this online jungle.
Put Up or Shut Up.
Put your reputation where your mouth is. If you believe in a stock, post a BUY on it. After it moves up, close your pick by posting a SELL. Think a stock is overbought? Post a SHORT. After the stock comes back down to Earth, close your pick with a COVER. Our site will track your picks and automatically update your 'ranking' based on their performance. Make a lot of quality picks and earn a higher ranking as well as the respect of fellow posters. Pick a bunch of dogs, and don't expect too many people to be enthralled by your advice.
Weed Out the RIFF-RAFF.
Sick of wading through hundreds of messages posted by halfwits and imbeciles in search of one or two nuggets of golden information? Only want to read the cream of the crop? Not a problem. While you're reading the Boards or browsing user's Picks, simply ignore users ranked below a certain level, or browse the Guru list and see only what the top-rated posters are recommending.
